Having worked in London doing accountancy for twenty years, I studied IT after work for several years, gaining various diplomas and certificates in the subject, at colleges in Harrow, Wembley and Hendon. These were a great help to me at a later date when I qualified as an IT Tutor.
In 2003, my husband (a retired Health Specialist) and I moved to lovely Northumberland. I was employed for two years as an IT Training Manager at the Northumberland Enterprise Centre in Ashington providing community training, where I became involved in providing Workshops for Business Link. When the work at Northumberland Enterprise Centre became redundant, I continued to provide the Workshops for Business Link at their centres in Berwick, Alnwick, Morpeth, Ashington, Blyth and Hexham. The subjects included Web Page Design using Word and E-Commerce.
I have also provided IT Training for several individuals on a one to one (private) basis some at their workplace, others in their own homes, I have also provided ECDL Fast track since September 2005 at the Berwick Community Centre. This is still on going.
During this period I also studied for my Master CIW Designer Qualification, in Birmingham, which is the highest qualification available in the subject, and having succeeded, I am now self employed and working from home.
